Scientific Interests: My current research area is hematology. Here I am studying an anticoagulant protein named Protein S. Our lab is studying its new role as an independent anticoagulant activity like binding with factor iX and inhibiting its activity. We are also working on role of hypoxia and estrogen in protein S regulation. During my PhD, I explored the interactive network between PARP-1 and EMT in human cancer cells. In this study, I found PARP-1 (Poly ADP-ribose Polymerase) regulates EMT (epithelial to mesenchymal transition) via modulating different transcription factor like p65, ZEB1 and Smad4 in non-small cell lung carcinoma.
