Scientific interest: My work aims to basically integrate mitochondrial biology and cancer. The work focusses mainly on colorectal cancer cell lines. Main objectives of my study include: i) Investigating mitochondrial transfer between cells and its consequences, including rescue of normal mitochondrial function after transfer of healthy mitochondria to cells induced with mitochondrial damage. ii) Mitochondrial dynamics including fission and fusion of mitochondria. iii) Role of healthy mitochondria in stemness of cancer cells will be further investigated.
